Autonomous mosquito defense · In development

It hears the buzz.
You get some sleep.

Tripwire listens for a mosquito in the dark, finds it, and drops a pinpoint of light right where it landed.

TRIPWIRE HOME ACTIVE ROOM CONCEPT

SCROLL TO TRACE SIGNAL

01 / THE PROBLEM

You know
the sound.

Lights off. Almost asleep. Then—that thin, electric whine right next to your ear. You slap. You miss. You flick the lamp on and it’s gone. Twenty minutes later, it’s back.

Tripwire is the thing that finds it for you.

02 / HOW IT WORKS

Four steps.
While you sleep.

Everything stays quiet and low-power until the one moment it’s built for.

01 / ACOUSTIC FRONT END

LISTEN + QUALIFY

Catch the wingbeat

A multi-mic array feeds low-noise filtering that looks for the frequency signature and motion pattern of a mosquito—not every creak in the room.

02 / ACTIVE VISION
Conceptual cutaway showing infrared illumination, camera and ranging sensor

ILLUMINATE + SEE

Turn darkness into data

IR emitters light the room invisibly while a low-light camera and time-of-flight sensor establish image, depth, and scale.

TRACK + PROCESS

Solve the trajectory

Onboard control and vision hardware fuse audio, image, and range data—then estimate where the mosquito is moving and where it stopped.

AIM + MARK

Put the dot there

The Pi-class board thinks. A dedicated MCU and DAC aim. The amber beam folds across two fast galvo mirrors and exits through the top aperture—while stereo vision keeps eyes on the target.

03 / SAFE BY DESIGN

A spotlight.
Not a weapon.

Tripwire finds mosquitoes and lights them up. It doesn’t try to cook them out of the air—and that’s the whole point.

Eye-safe by design

A low-power spotlight in the same class as a laser pointer. Designed for life around you, your kids, and your pets.

Built for the dark

Infrared sight means it works best exactly when you need it most—lights out, dead of night.

Nothing to refill or hear

No sprays, no chemicals, no zapper snap in the corner. It quietly watches and waits.

04 / GALVO MODES

Same hardware.
Different personality.

The dot is proof. The rest is personality. Pick quiet protection, a visible lock, or a tiny performance worth showing somebody.

THE DELIGHT LAYER

The mosquito becomes
a very small game.

Surface-only flourishes turn “it works” into something you can see, share, and update long after the hardware ships.

Visible patterns shown are surface-only product concepts. Final laser class, interlocks, operating limits, and safety behavior require engineering validation and certification.

05 / THE LONG GAME

One targeting brain.
Far more than mosquitoes.

The engine doesn’t care what it’s aimed at. We start in your bedroom. From there: the backyard, the barn, the field.

There it is.

Enhanced view of the marked mosquito.

Accessibility view increases scale and local contrast. The actual marker remains a small, eye-safe point of light.
